There are some things in life that are simply out of your control. Whether it’s headline news or traffic on the way to work, stress can feel inescapable at times. One thing you can control is the way you manage that stress. Boxing is amazing stress management. A practical and safe solution for you to let out frustration on a bag. At American Gym, our boxing classes are therapeutic after a harsh and demanding week.
Why Boxing Works for Stress
Boxing engages your entire body and mind to act as one. This results in a huge surge of endorphins and release of tension. Boxing teaches you how to breathe and control your breathing. Understanding the connection of exertion and technique, while controlling your breathing is meditative and keeps you in a focused flow state. After class, your body feels lighter and your mind is calmer.
Boxing prepares you for the Real World
Boxing teaches you composure and control under pressure. To stay calculated and focused while the mitts are coming at you fast. Your spatial awareness, timing and reaction time improves as you continue on your Boxing journey. You will notice a more calm and tactful approach at dealing with life’s ups and downs.
