Goshin Budo Jiu Jitsu is an all-encompassing art that initially gives the student the skills to defend himself or herself. Once that foundation is in place, more advanced techniques and strateigies are taught that give students the ability to subdue and control an attacker.

The Jiu Jitsu techniques taught in this class consist of self-defense techniques, including kicking, striking, blocking, punching, leg sweeps, judo throws, joint locks, wrist locks, arm bars, and defense against multiple opponent attacks. At higher levels, this art includes sword work, defense against knives, guns, and other weapons.

The instructor for this class is Sensei Tony Walsh. Tony started training in 1984 at the Hsing Chen Kung Fu School in Tustin under Sifu John Bracy where he earned a brown belt. He then studied Shotokan Karate in London, England. From 1998 to 2015, he trained in Goshin Budo Jiu Jitsu at the Combat Jiu Jitsu Center under Sensei Jonathan Roger, earning a second degree black belt. During this time, he also studied and earned another black belt at the Shuyokan Ryu AikiJutsu Dojo under Soke David Dye in 2010.
